Miass Factory of Medical Equipment continues construction of vivarium in Novosibirsk
 In April 2005 Miass Factory of Medical Equipment wan a tender for the construction and equipment of this facility. In principle, the prospective vivarium is to be the unique nursery area in Russia, meeting GLP standard, for breeding laboratory animals with immunodeficiencies, which is necessary for biotechnological, pharmaceutical and medical research.
Miass Factory of Medical Equipment representing the general contractor is now topping out the vivarium building with the total area of 5000 sq.m., ending water and heat piping and wiring and setting about finishing works. Cleanrooms installation in accordance with GLP requirements is to be started in the end of 2007.
The areas for keeping animals are to be equipped with modern air treatment units, lighting systems with automatic mode “day/night”, necessary for keeping and breeding immunosuppressed laboratory animals. All the utilities and engineering systems are backed up, thus excluding the risk of animals demise in case of emergency (the duplicated water and heating pipeworks and wiring are fed by independent sources). Automatic diesel power station provides emergency supply to the air treatment devices.
